My love affair with editing began in London, Ontario, Canada, 16 years old when I found myself working through the night on pet projects with my high school’s equipment. When I was 18 I flew to Santa Monica, California, to job shadow for a week at a post facility. I knew then editing was for me. By the time I graduated from Toronto’s Ryerson University with a B.A.A. in Radio & Television Arts I’d set my sights on cutting dramatic television and, being a dual Canadian/American citizen, headed for Hollywood to see what I could do.
I love the power of storytelling that shines through in editorial, discovering what is effective and what isn’t. The thrill of seeing good ideas flourish and the eureka moments when solutions are found. I love the collaboration that is required in this powerful medium, and to do this amongst extraordinarily talented artists is an honour and a privilege.
When I’m not in the edit bay you’ll find me on my bicycle, hiking, or exploring LA with my partner, trying to discover the best restaurants in town.
